The USAID funded South Sudan Health System Strengthening Project ( HSSP) facilitate the implementation of effective management systems and processes to increase the ownership and capacity of the State Ministries of Health and County Health Departments in the states of Western Equatoria and Central equatorial states to ensure provision of high quality primary health care.
Scope of work:
AMREF South Sudan/ Abt associate, is seeking to recruit a Technical Specialist/Organisational Development, Leadership and Management Specialist Under the supervision of AMREF Country Director/ Chief of Party Abt Associate the technical Specialist 10/ organisational Development leadership and management specialist manages the component 1 of the project: increased Management and Leadership capacity at the State Ministry of Health, County Health Department, and Village Health Committee level.
Key Job functions
- Oversee implementation of an organizational and Management assessment of the two states and counties and develop detailed intervention plans
- Design and oversee implementation of interventions.
- Conduct participatory and result- oriented workshops and training in areas such as planning, team building, role clarification, and leadership and management training.
- Develop standardized approaches and organizational development tools to support interventions.
- Monitor and evaluate results and recommend mid-course adjustments.
- Identify linkages between component 1 and component 2 and 3 and work with project staff to integrate activities.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Public Health, Community Health, Management or any other relevant field. Post Graduate Certificate/Diploma in Health System Governance, leadership and management required. 6yrs relevant experience, especially in health system strengthening, management and organizational development in resource poor settings in collaboration with ministry of health, health departments and primary health care systems is an added advantage. Previous work experience with large donor funded projects, preferable government, multi-lateral, bi-lateral agencies and UN funded projects , USAID in health strengthening is required, Demonstrates skills in the programmatic and operational coordination of program implementation ,Leadership, capacity building and training skills, management and governance skills, advocacy and communication skills, good interpersonal and people management skills and ability to work with people from all backgrounds. Knowledge of Arabic language will be added advantage.
