International Medical Corps is currently providing support to Raja County Hospital in Western Bahr El Ghazal State in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
The Hospital Medical Coordinator will plan, organize and ensure the delivery of quality medical services, at Raja Hospital in accordance with the South Sudan’s national health care policy, the Basic Package for Health Services (BPHS). The Hospital Medical Coordinator will be in-charge of the clinical and administrative responsibilities at Raja Hospital, supervising and mentoring the two medical doctors and other clinical staff. In consultation with the CHD, the hospital medical coordinator will develop and lead a hospital management team to ensure smooth running of the day to day activities at Raja hospital. The Hospital medical coordinator monitor progress of the project against indicators and set objectives, and ensure the routine DHIS, IDSR reports are timely and accurate, and, with the Site Manager is responsible for drafting donor reports. The Hospital Medical Coordinator may also provide direct patient care as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in Medicine (MD, MBBS, MBChB etc. or equivalent) from a recognized Institution • Additional qualifications in Clinical Medical medicine in Surgery or Obstetrics and Gynaecology field or Public Health preferable but not mandatory • Registration/license with relevant professional body as a medical doctor/surgeon. • Minimum of 3 years post medical registration work experience • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervising, coaching and training hospital staff • Minimum of one-year experience working in a developing country or similar environment • Arabic language skilled highly desirable
• Experience in management of a medical team • Organized, methodical and accurate • Ability to work on strict deadlines and under pressure. • Proven ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment • Motivated with a demonstrated ability to adapt to new working methods. • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, multicultural and remote environment. • Flexibility and willingness to adjust to changing responsibilities or needs as they arise • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, Email, Excel)
