Ethics and Compliance Manager EMEA
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The position will be responsible for providing strategic regional leadership in the deployment of Eaton’s EMEA ethics & compliance program, including training and communications that will support such program and reinforce a culture of compliance and support Eaton’s commitment to doing business right.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The EMEA Ethics and Compliance manager will:
1. Carry out all ethics and compliance responsibilities delegated to the position by
Director, Ethics & Compliance – EMEA and the Senior Vice President, Ethics & Compliance.
2. Oversee and manage investigations of ethics matters upon agreement with and under guidance
from the EMEA Ethics and Compliance director. Depending upon the nature of matters,
collaborate with functional subject matter experts in Internal Audit, Financial Accounting,
Law, EHS, Quality, Operations, and HR to investigate matters and execute resulting action
plans.
3. Act as a resource to local employees for inquiries or questions regarding ethics and
compliance.
4. Serve as point of contact and coordinate with the Ethics Office in effectively
communicating ethics and compliance policies, procedures and practices to employees through
publications, training and education programs.
5. Compiles, analyzes and reports on matters affecting ethics and compliance, including trends
and best practices.
6. Participate in the development and implementation of strategies for activities relating to
ethical relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other third parties.
7. Work with local business training resources to determine opportunities to deliver key
ethics and compliance communications and training. Assist with developing and implementing
a compliance strategy and infrastructure for a given country/ region/ business that meets
the requirement of regulator and the expectations of Eaton for doing business right.
8. Collaborate with local leadership team and HR to ensure that: (a) required ethics training
is delivered to all new employees via new employee orientation; (b) training metrics are
monitored; (c) annual 1 hour ethics training is delivered to all employees as required; (d)
provide support to MOPs to enhance the quality of the trainings (d) processes for tracking
annual training are completed as required, including the year-end certification: and (e)
training requirements are communicated to target audiences..
9. Assist with deployment of risk assessment program to assess, prioritize and manage legal
and regulatory compliance risks.
10. Coordinate focus groups, pilot tests and training roll-outs of ethics and compliance
initiatives. Assist with translations as needed. Review findings from internal audit
reports and ensures that action plans are completed.
Specified work location : In Bonn, In Poland or In Prague but also other EMEA countries close to an airport are possible - even home-office would be an option.

Desired Skills & Experience
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
Candidate is a qualified lawyer
Ideally 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, preferably with a large multinational company.
Strong reputation for integrity and ability to balance business interests with the need to
exercise independent judgment and to raise (and escalate if necessary) potentially
sensitive or contentious issues.
Strong diplomatic skills, patience, ability to find a solution through creative ways with
the minimum of damage to the business.
Will and energy to develop thorough knowledge of business operations, standards, values,
code of ethics and regulations affecting ethics and compliance. Interest in developing
knowledge in key compliance risk areas including anticorruption/FCPA and other anti-bribery
regulations, etc.
Solid influencing and organization skills are essential with demonstrated managerial
credibility in order to effectively coach and mentor.
Highly developed sense of judgment and risk management skills, with proven ability to think
practically – strong common sense.
Demonstrated ability to direct, conduct, manage and oversee investigations involving a wide
spectrum of potentially complex and sensitive issues. Ability to maintain discretion and
protect confidentiality, interface with law enforcement and appropriate government
relations and representatives.
Ability to think and act strategically. Easy contact; able to crate solid network based on
trust; Good problem solver; able to analyze, evaluate and distill complex qualitative and
quantitative data and issues into workable parts and report on same.
Exceptional verbal and written communication and platform skills; ability to communicate
and relate at all levels of the company to enforce standards where necessary in a
persuasive manner. Must be fluent and proficient in English at least. Additional
competencies in other regional languages a certain plus.
