CARE is an International NGO working in Somalia. CARE and its partners work with vulnerable communities to address the underlying causes of poverty and promote peace and development, through its strategic goal to reduce poverty by empowering women, enhancing access to resources and services, and improving governance.
CARE is inviting young women who meet the required criteria below and are interested in taking part in our Graduate Internship Program to submit applications for consideration.
Internship duration: Fixed Six (6) months with possible extension.
1) IT INTERN- Based in Nairobi
Internship Purpose To provide IT Support to the Regional Management Unit (RMU), Nairobi and Somalia Office.
Key Responsibilities • Helpdesk support • Ensure the MIS standards and policies are adhered to at all times and throughout the entire infrastructure. • Ensure systems availability, Security Management and System Integrity • IT Monthly Updates: This is a monthly newsletter produced and published every month • Maintenance of All Email Lists/Distribution Groups CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY • Higher diploma/Degree in IT or Computer Science • Excellent customer service • Demonstrate a sense of curiosity and desire for continuous learning and improvement • Ability to work in a team and in diverse multi cultural group • Demonstrated good character, creativity, honesty and positive attitude • Willing to travel to Somalia
2) PROGRAM QUALITY UNIT INTERN -Based in Nairobi
Internship Purpose To provide support to the PQU advisors, Program and Area Managers as well as other relevant staff in the compilation of program data drawn from M&E and other reports, support workshops and project reviews. Preparation of high quality written and, where applicable, other audio-visual reports, public relation materials and other documents highlighting the impact of CARE's development work and in support of CARE Somalia's knowledge management efforts.
Key Responsibilities • To support the project managers and M and E Advisors in collecting relevant project data for purpose of monitoring and impact measurement • To support program staff in the preparation of progress reports for internal and external stakeholders • To support the PQU/programme staff in organizing workshops/trainings for staff and partners
CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY • A degree in Social science or other relevant field • A diploma in communication and information technology would be an added advantage • Good analytical skills • Fluent in both written and oral English language • Knowledge of Somali language would be an added advantage • Ability to work in a team and in diverse multi cultural group • Demonstrated good character, creativity, honesty and positive attitude • Willing to travel to Somalia
