DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Wellspring Advisors seeks a part-time associate consultant in Dar es Salaam to provide critical support and oversight to its Tanzania grantmaking, which supports women’s rights, children’s rights, education, human rights, and local civil society. The time commitment associated with this consultancy will be part? time, approximately 5-8 days per month, for an initial period of six months.
Wellspring Advisors will not sponsor any candidates to relocate to Tanzania and/or obtain any necessary legal documentation in Tanzania, such as visas or work permits. Similarly, Wellspring will not sponsor candidates to move to or work in the United States.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support grantees, applicants, and Wellspring staff to ensure satisfactory completion and submission of applications and reports;
• As directed by Tanzania Consultant, conduct due diligence and site visits for current and prospective partner organizations; monitor grant activities;
• Network with donors and NGOs working in relevant fields in Tanzania; attend relevant meetings, forums, and conferences; report back to Tanzania consultant and international program team; and provide notes/summaries of meetings as needed;
• Provide updates on unfolding current events that may have an impact on its partners or program focus;
• Provide administrative and logistical support to staff in planning and executing meetings and site visits with local partners;
• Perform related administrative duties as requested and as needs evolve.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 3 years professional experience working in the fields of international development and/or human rights in Tanzania;
• University degree required; graduate degree a plus;
• Fluency in English and excellent oral and written communications skills required, knowledge of local languages a plus;
• Prior experience with grants management and grant writing a plus;
• Strategic planning and other organizational development skills a plus;
• Excellent analytic abilities and impartiality;
• Demonstrated commitment to Wellspring’s grantmaking priorities;
• Ability to handle confidential client information with complete discretion; and
• Ability to work and travel within Tanzania.
