We are looking for an individual, who is organized, highly motivated and results oriented to assist in ICT support in the ICT Department.
The position is based in Nairobi and reports to the ICT Manager.
Purpose of the Job:
To assist in providing efficient and effective ICT software, hardware and network support to the AMREF Country Office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide helpdesk support and assistance to users.
- Participate in the development, installation and management of ICT systems.
- Assist in systems and application upgrades including scheduled anti-virus updates for users.
- Assist in troubleshooting and development of database management programs.
- Assist in hardware and software installations, configurations, support and maintenance.
- Provide regular software training to users.
- Update and maintain computer asset register.
- Ensure that all ICT user equipment is adequately insured.
- Assist in ICT data entry and audits.
- Perform scheduled network backup, maintain backups and secure backups.
- Continuously assist identify need for new systems or re-engineering of existing systems to meet the changing needs of the organization.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
Qualifications and Competencies:
The ideal candidate should have a Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or its equivalent. At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy organization. Experience and knowledge of organizational information infrastructure including hardware, software and application systems. Knowledge of relevant programming language(s) and ability to use programming skills to develop information systems. Good experience and knowledge of web based application, exchange administration and IP routing. In addition the ideal candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills, be a team player and ability to work with minimal supervision.
