The purpose of the short-term project is to conduct a final performance evaluation of the KARI partnership, primarily for learning.

Position Summary: The Team Leader will conduct the evaluation and will:
• Examine the extent to which the project’s objectives and goals – at all results levels – have been achieved; • Understand if research results, training, and outreach have yielded sustained impact in the use of new technologies and on agricultural yields; and • Capture lessons that can be applied to current and future agricultural research and technology dissemination partnerships.
Qualifications: • A minimum of a Master’s Degree in monitoring and evaluation, research methodology, or related field. • Ten years of professional experience in implementing, monitoring and evaluating development programs in developing countries, particularly in Africa, with extensive experience leading evaluations – preferably with experience on USAID economic growth evaluations relating to agricultural research and development projects.
• Strong background in social and cultural issues affecting rural development, including gender. • In depth understanding of Agricultural Research. • Demonstrated written communications skills, especially in drafting evaluations, assessments and reports, required. • Familiarity with USAID Forward quality evaluation standards and requirements.
