Background:
Background:
Data management, reporting and use are key element of a Results-Based M&E system. To that end, an electronic and centrally-managed database system has been designed/developed to track the progress/results of the Country Program through well-defined performance measures (indicators). It is a management information system intended to support the program management in effective decision-making and to improve responsiveness to program stakeholders by collecting, processing and providing reliable and timely information. More specifically, the system is about monitoring UNFPA contribution to national capacity development, the Country Program outcomes and outputs as well as socio-economic indicators. In this regard, UNFPA Country Office in Sudan is recruiting a Programme Database Operator to assist in the overall monitoring, evaluation and reporting processes. Organizational context: Under the direct supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and the overall direction of the Deputy Representative and Assistant Representative, the Database Operator works in close collaboration with the Program Team and UNFPA Implementing Partners and ensures consistent operationalization of the system. |

Duties and responsibilities:

Use relevant information available from all censuses and reliable national population-based surveys/studies (e.g. Sudan Household Health Surveys, Multi-Indicator Cluster Surveys… etc) to enter relevant indicators into system; Receive copies of the progress reports (work plan monitoring reports, annual progress reports, training reports and field monitoring visit reports) submitted by Implementing Partners and UNFPA, refine and enter data into the relevant sections of the system; Update the system regularly with information from the above-cited sources; Follow up with partners – by communication and visits - on submission of reports in case of delay or missing information in the reports collected; Use the system to generate reports and share soft copies with the field staff on monthly basis; Should there be a need, the incumbent supports the country office staff and partners to run and access information in the system; Notify the ICT for routine maintenance and technical support in case of problems; Any other tasks assigned by the M&E Analyst in consultation with the Deputy Representative and the Assistant Representative. |

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Academic
Requirements: Secondary Education, University Degree in Business
Administration, social sciences or ICT is an advantage.
Experience: 2 years work experience in database administration or a development program. Languages: Good in oral and written English and Arabic. Computer skills: Good computer skills in office software applications (MS Word, Excel, etc). |
