Farm Africa is an international NGO with a vision of a prosperous rural Africa.
Working alongside
Africa’s farmers, herders and forest communities, we enable them to
adopt the latest technologies and link to markets to make sustainable
improvements to their livelihoods.
We need a HR Development Advisor to champion, drive and otherwise embed Farm Africa’s HR strategy, working mainly in Tanzania and Kenya, but also Uganda, South Sudan and Ethiopia, and ensure its integration into the business.
The post holder will lead
on designing and implementing good practice people management
approaches and systems and act as a coach and expert advisor to
managers.
You will be professionally qualified with several years experience in an HR management position gained in one or more of our countries of operation.
You must have a good
knowledge of employment law in at least two of the countries we work in
and experience in managing complex employee relations issues.
You must have experience
of managing complex change processes’, strong experience of performance
management and appraisal systems, be able to analyse learning needs and
have experience in designing delivering and commissioning training
workshops.
To succeed in this role you need to be comfortable coaching and advising managers, be able to work autonomously as well as a member of a geographically broad team, and be able to think strategically as well as gaining your colleagues respect as a skilled hands–on HR practitioner.
The role will entail substantial travel across East Africa.
