Summary of Position The IT Support Specialist coordinates and helps with all activities in the IT Department. The position will report to and assist the Network Administrator. This position requires exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. S/he must be willing to understand user needs and translate requirements into technology solutions, and must be able to understand and support 24x7 infrastructure and business critical applications. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in a highly visible, fast paced environment, with minimal supervision and major responsibility, and requires thorough knowledge of IT environments and technologies.

Responsibilities
• Serves as the initial point of contact for troubleshooting all IT related problems, including hardware/software, network services, and printer problems for international workforce • Assists in research, procurement, provisioning, and shipment of IT equipment including laptops/desktops, accessories, and other equipment • Provides general IT project support and implementation to programs and organization when implementing new technologies and solutions • Assists Network Administrator in routine server and network administration • Documents processes and procedures - using Spiceworks, SharePoint, and other services. • Equipment management and support • Assists department with registering, tracking, and renewing equipment maintenance contracts • Works with hardware and software vendors in initiating warranty and general support • Must be available for on-call emergency response coverage. Certain tasks and responsibilities require availability after normal business hours as needed.

Minimum Qualifications Essential: • 2 or more years of current hands-on IT support experience • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, and/or other related field (MSCE, CCNA/E, etc) or demonstrated IT related experience • Highly developed IT research and problem-solving skills • Excellent customer service and communication skills • Team player who can handle stressful situations with diplomacy • Ability to meet deadlines, both prescribed and self-imposed • Experience supporting complex and diverse hardware and software • Experience in troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise systems, as well as Microsoft Office 2010 products • Hardware repair skills, and antivirus and spyware troubleshooting knowledge • Understanding of mobile devices • Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs • Fluency in written and spoken English
Desirable: • Fluency in written and spoken French • Previous experience supporting internationally distributed offices with diverse infrastructures
