£27,329 gross pa (plus other benefits), Grade C Permanent post, full-time (35 hours per week) Based in Brixton, South London
We are looking for a highly motivated and resourceful individual with a genuine commitment to development, seeking to work in a cutting edge development agency. The post holder will support the Fundraising Team to increase funding for Progressio’s work. S/he will prepare specific funding bids/reports for submission to institutional donors (this will involve liaising with four Programme Funding Officers overseas, plus other staff in the UK and overseas). The post holder will contribute to raising funds for Progressio’s work worldwide, with an additional specific focus on Timor-Leste, as well as fundraising for our international advocacy work. The post will include researching new funding sources and maintaining information systems.
The successful candidate should have a degree in a relevant discipline.
Proven experience of successful fundraising from a variety of statutory and/or trust sources; of researching, and writing successful high quality funding proposals and/or donor reports; of successfully raising sums in the excess of £100,000, and experience of engaging and building donor relationships is essential.
You should have a good knowledge of current funding trends and sources; great attention to detail and the ability to assimilate and analyse written information quickly; excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and numeracy skills and the ability to prepare and interpret basic financial information. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with a wide range of people in a participatory, respectful, collaborative manner, and enhance effective work relationships; sound organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work on own initiative, be self-motivated and prioritise effectively in order to meet deadlines, and a genuine interest in international development issues are also essential.
