Key results expected: • Inform GAVI’s future strategy with policy options • Ensure recommended decisions are evidence-based • Improve GAVI’s efficiency as a results-based agency
Main duties/ Responsibilities: • Lead and scope new and innovative pieces of policy research relevant to vaccines and global health • Develop concept papers, policies, frameworks, summary documents and reports, including for the GAVI Board • Conduct reviews in areas relevant to vaccines and global health • Perform rigorous analysis of immunisation, economic and demographic longitudinal data sets relevant to GAVI’s operations • Conduct literature reviews in areas relevant to vaccines and global health • Lead constituency and stakeholder input to the policy development process, including public consultations • Brief senior management on policy issues • Cover a diverse range of policy topics such as: graduating countries sustainability and access to affordable vaccination in middle income countries; future vaccines investment strategy; country-by-country approach; and Lower Middle Income countries approach

Qualifications
Academic: Masters in Public Health, Health/Development Economics, Epidemiology or equivalent
Work experience: • Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in development or global health, possibly in a developing country.
• Experience in policy research, and quantitative, qualitative and health economics analysis • Knowledge about vaccine programmes desirable
Skills/competencies: • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, accurate work within tight deadlines; • Experience with qualitative and quantitative analysis methods; • Excellent writing and analytical skills; • Competency in health economic analysis; • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds; • Good knowledge of institutional or organisation policies, systems and procedures; • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment; • Tact and discretion; • Good Computer skills (MS Excel, other MS Office applications.)
Languages: Fluent in English; other languages desirable
