The organisation is an equal opportunity employer currently seeking to recruit competent persons to fill the following project positions: Plan Uganda with funding from SIDA will implement a three-year Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health (ASRH) Project in Lira District. The Project primarily targets adolescents (13 to 19 years of age) both in and out of school and will be implemented through partnerships. Specifically the project aims at empowerment of adolescent girls and boys with information and life skills regarding sexual and reproductive health rights; increasing awareness among adolescent boys and girls on the risky adolescent practices; and improvement of the communication skills of caretakers to effectively “communicate with youths on sexuality and reproductive issues. 2, Project Coordinator, UKNO Water Supply Project—(1 position based at Country Office) The successful candidate shall provide leadership in the management and overall delivery of the One Foundation/UKNO Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene funded project. He/she will lead the project team in planning, implementation, partnership management, monitoring and reporting of the project. He/she will be responsible for the timely and quality delivery of the project according to the objectives and approaches in the project document and to the satisfaction of all project stakeholders. Reporting to the Programme Support Manager, his/her key result areas will be as below: Key Result Areas: • Develop annual and quarterly implementation/ procurement plans and budgets. • Lead and manage performance of Project Facilitator(s) • Lead the technical design of project interventions and supervision of implementation. • Monitor progress of construction work from the feasibility stage to handover of water sources • Ensure water quality analysis against Uganda Bureau of standards is done at the different phases • Integrate the project with other Plan WASH projects in district to leverage on existing supply chains • Track works progress against payments and work plans, and ensure good quality of the final construction outputs as per donor and user community expectations • Lead on training and equipping of Hand Pump Mechanics, Water and Sanitation committees closely working with sub-county and districts line departments • Ensure adequate consultation and participation with all stakeholders at all stages of the project implementation • Prepare and share quality and timely project reports as per donor requirements and the M&E plan • Ensure all project learning’s/achievements are documented and disseminated widely • Manage project resources efficiently and effectively in accordance with Plan Uganda policies.
Requirement:	Essential skills and competencies: • Bachelor's degree in civil, or water engineering, Hydrology or any other related field. • A Master's degree in any of the above areas is desirable • At least 5 years experience in rural Water supply and Sanitation service delivery preferably with an NGO • Hands on experience in management of Water source construction, particularly borehole technology • Knowledge of WASH governance issues on Operation and Maintenance of Water facilities • Knowledge of Ugandan WASH sector guidelines/ standards on rural water supply development • Excellent project management skills, including partnership management • Strong awareness of the importance of integration of water supply, sanitation and Hygiene in development • Strong strategic and analytical thinking plus monitoring and evaluation of WASH programmes • Demonstrated abilities in planning, reporting and budget management • Communication skills, appropriate to the audience and good computer skills in MS Office and Internet • Demonstrable abilities to meet deadlines and work cooperatively with all other local partners • Experience in resource mobilization both at local and international levels • Ability to work with people from diverse cultures, ability to lead and motivate people to work in teams
