Duties and responsibilities:
- Manage Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, Safety and Environment
- Deliver sound best practice SHE advice to line managers in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and applicable national and international legislation
- Facilitate and steer the development and implementation of SHE management systems, exposure to control programmes and measures (ISO 14 001, OHSAS)
- Analyse, evaluate and assess SHE activities, incidents and non-conformances and make recommendations using the R-CAT methodology
- Report on both lead/proactive and lag/reactive indicators with regard to SHE management
- Initiate and ensure the implementation and maintenance of SHE systems that contribute to a safe and productive environment
- Plan and prepare the budget
- Ensure continuous improvement of risk registers and SHE systems through integration, optimisation and maintenance.
Requirements:
- A Grade 12, NATED 3/NCV Level 3
- A National Diploma in Safety Management
- A Blasting Certificate
- A qualification/experience in a trade, Environmental Management, Ventilation or Occupational Medicine will be advantageous
- COMSOC I & II
- R-CAT
- Registration as a Professional with IOSM
- A Code 08 driver’s licence
- 8 years’ experience.

Rigger/Ropesman

The successful candidate will be responsible for all rigging operations with respect to maintenance and construction.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose and perform trade-related maintenance
- Maintain lifting equipment, winder ropes and attachments
- Perform rigging and heavy lifting work on surface, underground and vertical shafts
Requirements:
- Valid Trade Test Certificate for Riggers
- Minimum N2 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Rigger in the underground and shaft environment
- Experience in double drum winders and Koepe winders
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- Sound engineering principles
- Safety conscious with rigid engineering knowledge on winder ropes
- Mobile crane licence would be an advantage.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Check recovery tailings conveyors
- Check safety guards on motors
- Check bin levels
- Pack grease on grease tables
- Report defects on conveyors and motors
- Undertake general housekeeping functions.

- A Grade 10
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivation
- Previous recovery experience would be an advantage.
