Position Overview:
The Operational Excellence Manager is a member of the Business Operations and Strategic Planning OE group. Based in Belgium.
Primary responsibility is to lead Operational Excellence projects that results in measurably improved effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery.
Under the direction of the Director of OE, achieve OE certification at the Practitioner level.
Train organization on OE tools and concepts.
Support OE project teams on tools and methods.
Present OE results and successes to senior function leaders.
The Operational Excellence Manager reports directly to the BOSP OE Sponsor as well as taking direction from the BOSP steering committee and is responsible for facilitating continuous improvement to create a living culture that challenges the status quo and the behaviours of employees to deliver the Operational Excellence transformation.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and communicate a clear charter for a project or initiative with clarity of scope and expected outcomes.
2. Set specific and measurable goals and objectives for a project team.
3. Coordinate work efforts of others to ensure integration and completion of work against expectations.
4. Provide feedback to others in order to enhance their job performance.
5. Provide input to the formal performance evaluation of a team member for a team you are leading.
6. Lead an effort to create a project or an initiative plan (includes tasks, resources, and timeframes) by gaining input from appropriate parties and obtaining management sign-off and commitment.
7. Manage a project team against a work plan.
8. Support efforts to build organizational capabilities required to achieve plans and destination by providing input and needed information.
9. Mentors and develops individuals to a clear understanding of the criteria for Operational Excellence success including behaviors, attitude, and OE skills to build an OE environment that sustains productivity and process improvement.
10. Instrumental in achieving the productivity and customer service targets and identifying productivity opportunities to close potential gaps.
11. Drives behavioral change across the function, including support functions through coaching and influencing.
12. Plays a key role in the OE roadmap preparation, execution, and routine follow-ups. Collaborates with Human Resources between employee representative groups, management, and employees to develop a sustainable continuous improvement culture.
13. Assists SOELs in developing a continuous improvement roadmap/master plan annually for the department and provides training and other assistance for execution.
Initiates and supports productivity initiatives that are supported by training on existing tools from the Operational Excellence toolbox to ensure delivery of operational excellence goals within the department.
FINANCIAL/ JOB SCOPE:
Working initially within BOSP teams and their customers to effect improvement and productivity initiatives. Scope will broaden as we learn about OE ti include all BOSP functions and probably other EU functional areas.

Dealing with individuals at all levels of the organization from operators and technicians to Top Management and within all organizations of BOSP
Dealing with ambiguity and the uncertainty of change and assisting others in their acceptance of change
Capable to work in an environment of continuous improvement where collaboration internally and externally with representatives from the Coca-Cola system
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No immediate direct supervisory responsibility, but will be leading large groups of multi-functional employees in diagnostic and implementation phases
RELATED JOB REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to learn to apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to business problems
Demonstrated acumen in Business and Finance
Track record of successful employee engagement initiatives
Understanding of change management and the principles of design
Expertise in supply chain optimization
Solid understanding of manufacturing supply chain and commercialization processes
Proven credibility in varied roles during career
Familiarity with Operational Excellence (Lean/Six Sigma) Tools and Methodology
Minimum 5 years in supply chain roles, commercialization, production, logistics, distribution, merchandizing or sales.
Proven experience with work simplification and redesign
Experience influencing/coaching people at all levels
Program management and execution

28. Organizes meetings with all functions to share continuous improvement status, defines next steps in order to raise the performance bar and develops plans to drive towards a continuous improvement culture.
29. Ensures efficient use of Operational Excellence communication platforms via intranet, continuous improvement meetings, and external sources to build knowledge and cultural change within the country of residence.
30. Provide/apply valuable and transferable best practice ideas to the Supply Chain exchange
31. Proactively collaborate with other network regional and site Operational Excellence Leads to communicate best practices and benchmark other OE deployments.
32. Proactively participate in the update and improvement of the global OE program by contributing training material updates, strategic deployment thought leadership and other improvements.
33. Deliver on agreed upon targets for savings and cultural change in the department.
34. Develop and deliver on OE skills targets for self and other personnel.
JUDGEMENT AND DECISION MAKING:
Major decisions with high $ impact would need to be referred to superior or OE Steering Group however the position otherwise has autonomy on day to day decision making within the OE improvement teams
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Some international travel required – averaging 10%.may increase as OE becomes part of our culture and is embraced in BU’s.
