The Plant Operator is responsible for the management of all activities around the treatment kiln, from loading of the vessel to delivery of quality treated poles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Translation of production schedule to a day-to-day operational treatment plan.
- Ensuring the availability of all raw material and chemicals.
- Regular testing of the chemical products in a controlled laboratory environment.
- Management of the production budget.
- Delivery of accurate and consistent production reports.
- Implementation of and compliance with all health, safety & environment provisions.
- Liaison with the workshop for maintenance and any emergency repairs.
Necessary Qualifications:
- At least 2-3 years experience in a similar production environment and good leadership skills in any manufacturing area.
- Excellent understanding of quality control measures record keeping in line with ISO 9001.
- Proven supervisory skills & ability to lead a team of gantry workers.
- Ability to plan, schedule work and manage time.
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures and ability to identify hazards.
- Basic understanding of first aid will be a distinct advantage.
- Proven ability to deal with chemicals in a production environment.
- Proficient in English: reading, writing & speaking.
