I. JOB SUMMARY:
Right To Play is recruiting a Monitoring, Evaluation and Training Officer for its Rwanda Country Program. She/he is responsible for the supervision and overall management of all project Monitoring & Evaluation and Training activities in Rwanda. With a good understanding of Right To Play programs and activities, and under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Monitoring & Evaluation and Training Officer will work closely with Project Officer a) perform program activities monitoring and evaluation and b) to assess training needs for Right To Play partners and internal trainings needs for Right To Play staff, to plan and coordinate training activities with partners.
II. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
The main responsibility of Right To Play Monitoring, Evaluation and Training Officer (METO) is to act as backstopping to the Program Manager (PM), to build the capacity of RTP partners, to enhance RTP overall public image, and to support RTP in achieving its goals in Rwanda. Donor reporting and proposal development -Organization and implementation of workshops and trainings for adult education - Budget development and monitoring – Project administration – strategic and operational Planning- program Design & Implantation (Monitoring & Evaluation – Trainings – Training & workshop Implementation)
III. QUALIFICATIONS:
A) EDUCATION/ TRAINING/ CERTIFICATE:
Required: Bachelor’s degree ( Social work, public health, education or related fields) and relevant experience.
Desired: A Master’s degree preferably in Social Sciences, Development Studies or other disciplines relevant to RTP focus areas (education, sports, play, health/HIV, etc.).
Desired: University degree in Physical Education
B) EXPERIENCE AND CORE COMPETENCIES:
Required:
- 3 – 5 year of relevant employment experience, preferably in the country of assignment.
- demonstrated experience in physical education and training
- Strong training and facilitation skills; Background in adult education is preferred
- Participation in sport and play; experience leading organized activities for children
- Personal sport and activity background with coaching experience
- Proven experience in Result based project management; including research and strategy, planning, and financial management
Desired:
- Experience in working with partner organizations, with I/NGOs
- Demonstrated experience networking, poverty reduction strategies
- a commitment to gender equity
- familiarity and interest in sport for development.
C) KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Required:
- Fluency in French English and Kinyarwanda
- Written and verbal communication skills, and confidence using these in a cross cultural environment
- Effective reporting writing and analytical skills
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
