Catholic Relief Service (CRS) South Sudan program is implementing the Jonglei Food Security Program (JFSP) and has vacancy for IT Manager to be based in Bor, Jonglei State.
The vacancy is open to all citizens of South Sudan.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONS
The IT Manager is primarily responsible for performing tasks in the following areas: Manage Day-to-Day IT Support Services Function, Network operability, Software Design and Development; Establish and enforcing IT Policies and Procedures. Work mainly involves problem solving and mediating highly conflicting, unexpected, and unusual problems involving multiple groups. Installation and Maintenance of Software Packages; Installation and Maintenance of Hardware and Peripheral Components; Information Systems Help Desk; Organize and Maintain Software Library; and Maintain and Control Anti-Virus Processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Day-to-Day IT Support Services Function
· Manage Day-to-Day Network Functions
- Manage/Establish IT Policies and Procedures
· Install CRS standard operating systems and various application programs (Sun systems, UUPlus, fastpay payroll system, Supply chain, hr management software and any other applications developed). Reinstall operating systems and applications that are causing errors. Provide instruction to users of software. Perform software upgrades to existing operating systems and applications. Call software vendor or access on-line technical support to obtain software updates. Maintain up-to-date expertise in operation and application of agency standard personal computer software. Maintain working knowledge of a wide variety of commonly used software. Assist in evaluation and testing of various software.
· Installation and Maintenance of Hardware and Peripheral Components
· Deliver, setup, install, and maintain CPU's, monitors, input devices, printers, scanners, hubs, and switches as need be. Install internal components such as hard drives, floppy drives, NIC's, modems, CD/DVDROM/R/RW and sound cards as assigned. Perform hardware upgrades on above existing computer equipment or replace hardware causing problems due to defect. Call hardware vendor or access online technical support to obtain information. Maintain up-to-date expertise in the operation of the agency systems.
· Maintain and Control Anti-Virus Processes
· Work with the agency approved virus-protection application to perform anti-virus processes. Inform users of virus-infected e-mails. Provide software to remove viruses on user machines and provide users with instructions on how to remove viruses.
· Software Training Course Curriculum
· Review, select, and implement commercially available software training systems/software and curriculum. Design, develop, and maintain computer training course curriculum. Analyze business process in order to design and develop business software training and process documentation.
· Coordinate IS Training Center courses
· Responsible for the preparation of training rosters, schedules, Training Center resources, computers, projectors, and facilities.
· Develop Technical Computer Usage Documentation
· Software and Hardware Licensing
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
· Higher National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Information Technology.
· Experience with community participation and capacity to work for long periods in field environments;
- At least three years of experience working with INGO in Information Technology
- Ability to work with a multicultural team.
- Knowledge of IT software design and development or experience therein.
- Experience in development of IT Policies and Procedures.
- Knowledge of IT Equipment Specifications and standards.
- Familiarization of IT related licensing and upgrades
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with staff, outside agencies, general public, government officials.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Spoken and written fluency in English
- Spoken fluency in a local language used in Jonglei State.
- Competence in handling soft and hard wares
- Motivated self-starter, able to carry out work independently but also coordinate effectively as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated in cross-cultural setting.
- Ability to work closely with government partners.
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in conflict-affected area preferred.(Experience in Jonglei will be an added advantage)
