DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:

Position Overview:

This role is responsible for developing manufacturing strategy; implementing and directing production for worldwide distribution, influencing new product introduction, packaging and delivery of JET equipment; developing/leading a competent team of professionals and directing them through rapid evolution in equipment manufacturing technology and business requirements; leading all new equipment contract manufacturing efforts and relationships for JET Operations; and managing intradepartmental and interdepartmental Equipment issues to successful resolution.

Function Specific Activities

Establish appropriate manufacturing strategies for JET Equipment and possibly other dispensing equipment to meet product development, production, cost and business objectives. Leverage existing CC supply base and acquired knowledge and processes developed by Sustaining Engineering, Strategic Procurement, Equipment and Parts Supply Chain.

Develop, position and nurture a world-class supplier base for JET Equipment that meets the product quality, delivery and cost goals necessary to optimize JET program profit.

Drive continuous improvement and be held accountable for:

Fill Rate = 100%

Equipment Cost Per Unit by Month goals

Manufacturing Yield: Defective Parts Per Million

Timely resolution of Corrective Action Reports (occurances)

Manage the JET manufacturing selection and capability process for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, coordinating formal input from New Product Introduction, Sustaining Engineering, Equipment Development, Strategic Procurement.

Control all new product introductions to suppliers – both first and second tier, OEM/Contract Manufacturing and Original Design & Manufacturing (ODM). When necessary, support the New Product Introduction Program Managers and Quality-Process Engineers on supplier introductions.

Establish and enforce supplier communication/interaction protocol to minimize disruption and maintain supplier productivity and quality.

In cooperation with New Product Introduction, deploy/engage department resources in a manner that maximizes JETs manufacturing effectiveness while minimizing personnel expenses.
Build a Vendor Management Core Competency :

Developing metrics that support the key business initiatives and ensures accountability for metric performance.

Expertly develops and manages the most complex partner relationships.

Negotiates high –level business agreements with external parties that satisfy Coca Cola’s interests.

Anticipates the impact of industry trends and practices and is fully knowledgeable of benchmarking.

Develops long-term Equipment or service plans and strategies that anticipate customer needs and expectations.

Effectively works through others, impacting people and results through remote communication.

Secondary responsibilities

Fully understand and support the business objectives of the JET Sales, Marketing and CC Customers.

Work closely with the JET Equipment Operations Sr. Director, Equipment Supply Chain (build plan, logistics etc.), JET Strategic Supply Chain, Strategic Procurement, Manufacturing Integration, Finance Cost Management and Customer Operations to meet to meet customer requirements and profitability goals.

Develop and meet department budgets and control costs, Travel and Entertainment.

Ensure appropriate training for the continued professional development of department personnel.

Work collaboratively with Sustaining Engineering to achieve cost and reliability objectives

Education Requirements:

BS/BA degree in science or engineering

Preferred Level: . An advanced engineering degree/MBA and relevant experience in general business is strongly preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in manufacturing engineering or related fields with at least 5 years of progressive management experience is also required. Manufacturing experience is a must.

Specific skills:
This position requires expertise in manufacturing/vendor management, business analysis, strategic and operational planning, budget and personnel management and new product development. The ability to effectively interface with senior management is essential. The ability to travel internationally and conduct business with persons from diverse cultures is required.

This individual must have excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, plus strong project management, vendor selection and negotiation skills. They must demonstrate proven ability to implement complex processes. Knowledge of current procurement, inventory management strategies, quality, manufacturing engineering and manufacturing practices is required. Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint skills required.
