PROJECT COORDINATOR

CCM (Comitato Collaborazione Medica) is an Italian NGO operating in Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, South Sudan, Somalia and implementing a variety of health-related projects.
CCM has just been granted an Italian Development Cooperation three-year project, focused on the development of a training centre for mid-level health professionals in Adi Shun Dum, Mekelle, Tigray.
Contract duration: one year (possible extension) Start date: End of February – beginning of March 2011
Job description The Project Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the intervention, in all its technical political and managerial components. S/he ensures the proper application of the organization and donor policies and guidelines in terms of visibility, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. In collaboration with the Country Representative, s/he is in charge of the selection and recruitment of the local staff. Moreover, s/he is responsible for: the management of human resources appointed to the project; the management of the project budget, including cash flow, monthly fund requests, budget amendments, and financial report; the project procurement, following the organization and donor guidelines.
The Project Coordinator is reporting to the Country Representative.
Requirements Post-graduate degree in relevant field (e.g. public health, human resources development, in service training ) or substantial equivalent experience; 3 years of relevant work experience Proven high level skills in program coordination, management and supervision; Strong administration skills with proven experience in budget management and accounting; Previous experience and understanding of Ethiopian context is advisable; Excellent communication and negotiation skills; Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team; Proven leadership, problem solving and organizational skills with flexibility and patience; Familiarity with Italian Development Cooperation regulations and policy is an asset; Fluency of both written and spoken English Very good knowledge of the Italian language is essential; Confident and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
