General Description of the Programme:
GOAL has been working in Sudan since 1985. GOAL operates a number of basic primary healthcare services, nutrition programs, women’s literacy and agricultural programs.
Overall Objectives of the position:
As the most senior field staff member, the Area Coordinator is responsible for all GOAL programme activities in the project location. The AC should have a good top-level knowledge and understanding of all activities in their location. In particular, they should be aware of the constraints faced by their team and actively work with their team to manage and trouble shoot problems as the arise. The area coordinator reports directly to the Country Director.
Key Duties:
• Overall leadership and management of the Agok base.
• Coordination and programme planning of the GOAL teams
• Oversee day-to-day operations of senior staff
• Submit weekly and quarterly reports and provide input for donor reports and proposals
• Coordination with the Government, UN and NGOs
• Oversee HR issues in the project
• Oversee the finance department
• External coordination to ensure GOAL’s position
• Implement GOAL security protocols and procedures.
• Implement other tasks as identified by the CD
Qualifications:
• Experience in programme management with an INGO
• Good interpersonal and motivational skills
• Flexible/motivated
• Experience in report writing
• Experience liaising with governmental/local authorities and other NGO’s
• Experience in managing staff safety and security requirements and good analytical skills of political and security situations.
• Current first aid certificate.
