(i) DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER (TECHNICAL) - CONTRACT

(iii) CLAIMS SPECIALIST - CONTRACT

The Wastewater Management Authority (WMA) is a corporate body which has as its core responsibility the protection of water resources and the health of the population in Mauritius through the management and control of wastewater collection, treatment and disposal. The Authority is expected to handle an investment programme of about 300 million US Dollars over the next five years.

Applications are invited from dynamic, visionary and highly motivated professionals who wish to be considered for the following posts at the Wastewater Management Authority on contract basis:

(A) DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER ( TECHNICAL ) - Contract

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Candidates should :

  • possess a degree in Civil Engineering which is recognized by the Council of Registered Professional Engineers of Mauritius;
  • reckon at least 10 years post registration experience in a senior position in the utilities sector;
  • have good organising, negotiating and leadership skills;
  • possess a good knowledge of modern trends in management and administration; and
  • be computer literate and conversant with software related to project management and engineering in general.

(B) SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER - Contract

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Candidates should possess:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering and have at least 10 years’ including 8 years of project management experience, in a water supply/wastewater undertaking;
  • Post-graduate qualifications in Project Management and design would be an advantage;
  • Sound organizational and administrative abilities, good communication and supervisory skills;
  • Working knowledge of Project Management tools such as budgeting, costs tracking, scheduling software, GIS water / wastewater modeling software and other IT tools.
  • OR any equivalent combination of training and experience acceptable to the Authority.

(C) CLAIMS SPECIALIST - Contract

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Candidates should:

  • Possess a degree in Quantity Surveying, or Civil Engineering or Construction Management or Cost Engineering or equivalent and reckon at least 10 years experience in Project Management, determination and negotiations of contracts, experience in contract administration, with emphasis on the analysis and determination of contractual claims;
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of International Conditions of Contracts (EU, FIDIC, etc.);
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of Arbitration, Construction Contract and Procurement Laws and possess good negotiating skills.

NOTE: Consultancy firms willing to offer professional services for posts (B) and ( C ) are also invited to submit their applications.

SALARY

Salary package for the above posts shall be negotiable and will commensurate with qualifications and experience
