TheSchool of St Judeis a charity funded school that provides a quality FREE education to approximately 1,500 primary and secondary children from the poorest communities in Arusha. Additionally, the school now provides employment to over 340 Tanzanians and purchases the essential goods required to run the school everyday from local people. The ripple effect is incredibly wide spread.
We are seeking and individual to join our Sponsorship Team based inArusha,Tanzania at The School of St Jude. The Sponsorship Team is responsible for communicating with sponsors living abroad and visiting sponsors. The role involves assisting with letter writing from students to their sponsors, maintaining current database information, as well as assisting in student selection process.
The successful applicants will be required to join the team by February 2012 so appropriate training can be given.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timely electronic communication with sponsors
- Accurate maintenance of Sponsorship Database information
- Assist students to write letters to sponsors
- Student home visits to ensure Sponsorship files are up to date
- Electronic filing of digital images and documents
- Assist with new student selection process from Aug-Dec each year.
Requirements and Skills:
- Proficiency with MS Suites
- Superior oral communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a close team of Tanzanian and International Volunteers
- Exceptional attention to detail particular with regards to data-entry and digital image labelling
- Prior experience working in an office environment
- Working with Children clearance or criminal check
Desirables:
- Previous experience working/volunteering inTanzaniaand basic knowledge of Swahili will be an advantage
- An eye for photography!

- A minimum commitment of 12 months is expected.

Stipend:
