The Department of Plant Pathology strives to ensure the quality, safety and sustainability of agriculture, agricultural products and the environment through excellent and relevant research, as well as innovative and interactive student training.
Duties:
• undergraduate and postgraduate teaching;
• training postgraduate students;
• establishing and managing a dynamic research programme in phythomycology and fruit tree pathology;
• production and presentation of high quality research outputs;
• rendering service to the University and agricultural sector;
• execution of administrative duties;
• development of national and international networks and partnerships.
Requirements:
• an appropriate PhD degree;
• ability to do independent and original research;
• a good scientific publication record;
• experience in postgraduate training and research;
• experience in establishing and managing a research programme;
• ability to obtain and manage research funding;
• excellent communication and language skills.

• experience in fungal diagnostics, taxonomy and detection;
