Minimum requirements
• PhD or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering).
• Five years lecturing experience at University Level or seven years relevant industrial experience.
• Experience with regards to management of academic matters, quality of program, student affairs, human resources, facilities, finances, research projects.
• Supervisory experience in Industry and/or academic fields.
• Experience of research and monitoring of post graduate students is recommended.
• ECSA registration or eligibility to register with ECSA is preferable
• Publications in refereed journals
• Conference papers
• Training skills that relate to the broad spectrum of duties and responsibilities that may contribute to improve the performance of the Department.
Core functions
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Academic leader, responsible for academic research and technological excellence and management of the department.
• Presenting lectures and assessing students in Civil Engineering subjects.
• Participate in community service project.
• Responsible for administrative tasks related to teaching and learning.
• Industry liaison and involvement in the development of the new curriculum.
• Involvement in the supervision of post graduate students and research.
• Fund raising through proposal writing.
