2. Project Coordinator – Kamuli PMTCT Project (Ref: PC.PMTCT)
Plan Uganda is implementing a four year comprehensive PMTCT Plus project in Kamuli District since Aug 2010 to July 2014). The project is being implemented together with the District Local Government and working with the community. Plan Uganda is seeking highly competent and committed staff to fill the vacant position of the Project Coordinator – PMTCT,
The Project Coordinator for the PMTCT Plus Project will report the Programme Unit Manager and will be the team leader for this project; the position is therefore both a technical and a managerial position. He/She will ensure that the PMTCT project objectives are realized to the satisfaction of the project stakeholders (Plan and her implementing partners, project sponsors and target community).
Major Responsibilities /Key result areas:
Develop timely and quality quarterly project implementation plans
Organize regular performance review meetings with the key project stakeholders
Ensure adequate stakeholder consultation and participation at all stages of the project implementation and further manage the project
Supervise the project facilitator(s) and ensure quality delivery of the project at all stages of project implementation
Compile and disseminate reports to the project stakeholders
Participate in developing terms of reference and supervising the work of partner organizations
Supervise and appraise the performance of the Project Facilitators
Be part of the participatory monitoring team
Ensure that the project documents are well maintained
Participate in operational research related to the project
Manage project resources efficiently and effectively in accordance with Plan Uganda policies and guidelines; and in compliance with grant conditions.
Requirement:
Essential Skills and Competencies:
A Degree in a health related field including Medicine., Nursing, Public health or any other related field
Strong team management skills and experience
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work cooperatively with local partners
Proven computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software including MS Word processing, Power point presentation. Excel spreadsheets, e-mail and web based research.
Additional training in Public health and management of HIV programs
Demonstrated skill and experience in report writing and budget management,
Having at least 5 years experience with a minimum of three years experience in implementing of HIV/ PMTCT Plus interventions preferably with an International Non-Governmental Organization or typical PMTCT Plus Projects
Knowledge of holistic programming to ensure actualization of the PMTCT Plus component of the Project
