Status: Fixed term for 5 years initially.
Salary: £26,430 - £30,617 PA incl. with potential to increase to £32,952 PA incl.
The Department of International Development is seeking a highly committed and motivated administrator to support the Director of the Programme for African Leadership.
The aim of the programme for African Leadership is to bring together experienced and emerging African leaders for intense leadership education at the LSE, delivered by the School and its partner universities around the world. Participants will also form an alumni network to exchange best practice at LSE Africa Forum, with a view to bringing positive impacts on the lives of Africans.
You will have substantial experience of organising events, seminars and workshops, including international travel; you will also be required to liaise with applicants, alumni and overseas partners. You will have a flexible approach and be an effective team player. You will act as a focal point of contact for applicants and student enquiries for PfAL; supporting the admissions and orientation processes; planning and organising a wide range of student activities and events; designing and editing student online learning resources and web pages and programme marketing. You must have a good educational background, possess relevant work experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work under your own initiative as well as within a team, and sound IT skills. Previous experience of web editing and committee servicing is also required. Good communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, as you will be dealing with faculty and current and prospective students. You should possess a high attention to detail and be able to organise and prioritise your own work.
