The management of the program will be integrated into the systems and processes of the Uganda Catholic Secretariat (UCS) for the purpose of sustainability and continuity. The Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau (UCMB – the Health Department) will be the lead department managing this program which primarily aims at ensuring continuation of support to antiretroviral therapy (ART) program in twelve (12) health facilities within the UCMB network. In order to manage the ACT program, the UEC would now like to fill the following job positions that are still vacant.. Other than as specified for each job position, UEC seeks to recruit highly self-motivated candidates that are able to work with the rest of the team at the UCS.
Maternal and Child HIV/AIDS Coordinator Job Summary:
Take overall leadership and coordination of PMTCT and Pediatric HIV/AIDS care in ACT supported Health Care facilities and community organizations in line with national standards.
Roles and responsibilities:
Lead the implementation of the PMTCT and Pediatric AIDS Care as outlined in overall ACT strategy and work plan.
Provide technical and logistical support to ACT supported HCF and other health facilities supported or not supported with USG funding within ACT catchment area.
Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders and other implementing partners at national and district levels to ensure maximum coordination in the delivery of quality PMTCT and pediatric AIDS care services
Assist in the development, production and dissemination of training materials, job aids and other critical documentation necessary in delivery of effective PMTCT and Pediatric HIV care services.
Provide technical assistance and support to HCF to develop robust & functional EID points within ART clinics.

Requirement:
Minimum Qualifications
A basic degree in human medicine, a postgraduate qualification in public health or clinical medicine will be an added advantage.
At least 3 years experience in managing HIV programs in Uganda, preferably in the areas of PMTCT and/or pediatric HIV services.
Knowledge of the current policy, programming and practice trends in the field of PMTCT, Nutrition, Early Infant Diagnosis and pediatric HIV care and treatment.
Excellent written and oral , communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) Fluent written and spoken English
