LECTURER/JUNIOR LECTURER IN FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT

Duties:
• teaching undergraduate students in theoretical and practical aspects of Food Service Management;
• clinical supervision of undergraduate students during practicals in food services;
• participating in nutrition-related research and publishing research findings.
Requirements:
• qualified dietitian registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA);
• at least a few years’ experience in the practical and theoretical components of Food Service Management;
• experience in the implementation of food safety;
• training experience;
• fluent language proficiency in both Afrikaans and English;
• sound organisational skills;
• the ability to function well within a team;
• a valid driver’s licence and own transport.
Recommendations:
• Masters degree in Dietetics or Nutrition;
• experience in the implementation of HACCP;
• experience in financial and human resource management;
• good interpersonal skills;
• computer literacy (Microsoft Office and specifically Excel);
• experience as undergraduate and postgraduate study leader;
• research experience;
• research publications;
• innovative approach.
Commencement of duties: January 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter
