The Robotics and Automation group has a long tradition of delivering accredited taught programmes underpinned by research, innovation and a strong engagement with the profession. Current staff are engaged at a local, national and international level with professional Institutions and regulatory bodies. The post holder would be expected to continue this tradition.
The post-holder would be expected to play an active part in the School's research community. He/she will need to work across academic disciplines, work with existing expertises within the School, and contribute his/her own direction to deliver a successful strategy. He/she will be expected to contribute to the development of a successful research grouping, including academic colleagues, postdoctoral research fellows, and research students.
The post-holder will be expected to contribute to maintaining the high regard with which our portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes is held. Identification of current and future industrial requirements and a good understanding of their interface with other professions in the context of a global economy are essential attributes.
