a USAID funded project in close collaboration with the National TB and Leprosy Program (NTLP) trial supports the NTLP and TB control in Kampala. KNCV is seeking to recruit the following:

Main purpose of the post
The Country representative/ Project Director (CR/PD) is responsible for the management of the KNCV field office in general, representing KNCV in the country and coordinating the implementation of KNCV supported projects.
He or she will coordinate and manage all field-based activities for the TBCARE I Project in Uganda. He or she is the primary liaison between TB CARE I and the National TB and Leprosy Control Program (NTLP), the USAID mission in Uganda and other partners involved with TB and TB/HIV activities and/or implementing TB and TB/HIV programs in Uganda, He or she manages the TBCARE I activities, provides strategic technical guidance and works closely with relevant stakeholders in Uganda to ensure that TBCARE I plans and activities effectively address priority areas of TB control and improved coordination and collaboration in TB/HIV. As the Project Director for the TBCARE I program in Uganda, he or she will ensure the timely and quality implementation of TBCARE I activities, As KNCV Country representative he or she will manage the KNCV field office and represent KNCV in Uganda.
Main duties
S/he is the official spokesperson for KNCWTBCARE I Project in Uganda. S/He shall work closely and maintain communication between KNCV, NTLP, USAID country mission and all relevant stakeholders.
Provide strategic leadership and bears primary responsibility for all administrative requirements to fulfill the project performance objectives. S/he will be the leader of the KNCV’s TBCARE I project management team based in Kampala.
Liaise with other USG and non-USG funded organizations implementing TB and TB/ HIV activities to ensure coordination of this project with activities undertaken by such other partners.
Ensure the coordination of logistical support in the implementation of TBCARE I project activities and the timely submission of reports to KNCV, the USAID mission and partners.
Monitor implementation of TBCARE I project activities at all levels ensuring such activities are adequately implemented,
Ensure timely collection and collation of data required for reporting on selected process and outcome indicators for TBCARE project in Uganda
Requirement:
Profile and expected competencies
An advanced degree in a health related field with qualifications in public health, or a related discipline, is required.
Exceptional managerial and operational experience, preferably in managing complex activities of similar magnitude and complexity involving coordination with multiple partners.
Experience with managing a donor funded project especially a USAID-funded project, will be an added advantage.
At least five years of experience in TB control / program management in a senior position in a high prevalence TB country, preferably Uganda. Experience in-the functioning of the public health sector is desirable.
Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability and availability to travel within Uganda and internationally as needed.
