We are seeking dedicated and self motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanics/Diesel Fitters to join the Underground Maintenance Team at Tulawaka to take part in ensuring that preventive maintenance and accurate and timely feedback is provided to the mechanical supervisor on conditions that may affect Tulawaka assets’ functionality and aesthetic appearance.
Reporting Line: Underground Mechanical Supervisors
Location: Tulawaka Mine Site
Work Schedule: Rotational Status (6 Weeks on / 3 Weeks off)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Nil lost time incidents and safe work environment.
§ Conduct Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs) before commencing any works.
§ Complete assigned work in a timely manner with minimum supervision and to an internationally accepted standard.
§ Demonstrate commitment to work to all Barrick’s policies and procedures.
§ To ensure workplace is kept in a safe working condition and mechanical work across the Tulawaka site is carried out safely, professionally and efficiently.
§ To carry out preventative maintenance on all manner of mobile and stationary equipment and heavy vehicles and provide accurate and timely feedback to the mechanical supervisor on conditions that may affect the assets functionality.
§ To carry out trouble shooting, faultfinding and corrective maintenance on all manner of mobile and stationary equipment and heavy vehicles in order to solve unplanned equipment or vehicle unavailability events and provide accurate and timely feedback to the mechanical supervisor.
§ To ensure that the Mechanical Supervisor and all stakeholders are kept informed on equipment and heavy Vehicle availability status.
§ Assist with the creation of bills of materials and task materials and equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful applicants must have the following qualifications/skills:
§ Hold a Mechanical Engineering or FTC in the relevant discipline or Trade Test Grade I.
§ Minimum 3 years experience in a similar industry.
§ Maintenance and diagnostic skills on relevant equipment
§ Be able to work with minimum supervision.
§ Fault finding and diagnostic on Heavy duty machines
§ Experience on Atlas Copco machinery, Scoop tram 1030, Dump truck MT 436, Drill rig 282.
§ Experience on Bell Dumper Trucks, Liebbher Dozer D9s and all types of Light duty vehicles.
§ Ability to execute assigned tasks in a safe, timely and risk free manner.
§ Hold a valid Tanzanian driving License.
§ High level of interpersonal and good communication skills
§ Be honest and have a high level of personal integrity.
§ Possess a good attitude and physical fitness.
§ Be decisive, resilient and resourceful.
§ Be performance driven.
