Trade and Industrial Policy Director (m/f)
Responsibilities :
• Conducting feasibility assessments and writing anti-dumping / anti-subsidy complaints on behalf of EU producers;
• Developing position papers on trade-policy issues (e.g. WTO and free trade agreements);
• Advising members on industrial and economic policy related matters, amongst others on origin rules and tariff duties;
• Monitoring all other developments in economic/trade legislation relevant to the industry;
• Representing the association at meetings with the European Commission, other European institutions, and associations;
• Leading working groups, chairing and following up meetings;
• Drafting economic reports on issues of common interest;
• Analysing market developments.
Skills & competencies :
• Relevant university degree (preferably degree in economics, with specialization in trade policy and trade defence instruments);
• At least 5-10 years professional experience, preferably with a trade association;
• Good analytical and numerical skills;
• Understanding of the functioning of EU institutions;
• Strong personality with excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills;
• Excellent English (both spoken and written), other European languages are an asset;
• Ability to work autonomously in a small team;
• Efficiency in communication with members, European Commission and Member States officials;
• PC literate (MS Office).
