PIH/IMB is recruiting three (3) competent and dynamic nationals to fill the position of Research Analysts.
POSITION: Research Analyst (RA)
REPORTING TO: Family Strengthening Intervention Program Manager LOCATION: Rwinkwavu and Kabarondo
BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Family Strengthening Intervention (FSI) project examines the mental health needs of HIV/AIDS-affected children and families and is collaboration between the Harvard School of Public Health and PIII/IMB. The PSI is hiring three (3) Al- level or higher Research Analysts for a period of six (6) months to conduct interviews for a mental health prevalence study. The project aims to measure the distribution of mental health disorders among children in Southern Kayonza, Kirehe, and Ngoma districts.
The Research Analysts will be part of an 11-person research team and will report to the FSI Program Manager.
The RAs must be willing to live in Kabarondo for all periods of data collection. Food and housing will be provided to the RAs during the study by the project.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct surveys in Kinyarwanda with children ages 10-17 and their caregivers acid collect data using SMART phones;
- Provide feedback on questionnaires, surveys, and other data collection instruments;
- Perform basic translations between English and Kinyarwanda;
- Write up reports and present findings to the FSI team and colleagues at Inshuti Mu Buzima;
- Participate in research meetings and trainings as necessary;
- Perform additional administrative duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
The following knowledge, skills and abilities are required for the job:
- University degree
- Excellent Kinyarwanda and English written and oral skills
- Ethical sensitivity and strong judgment in working with vulnerable children and families
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email (Gmail preferred)
- Willing to work with a diverse group of team members and independently
- Self-directed, reliable and hard working
- Respect for and comfort working with individuals affected with chronic health conditions including HIV and mental health
- Ability to live and work in rural Rwanda
- Comfort in extensive community-based data collection (field work)
