SolidarMed, Swiss Organization for Health in Africa is looking for a:
Institutional Development Advisor for the future NGO WIWANANA Cabo Delgado, Mozambique
WIWANANA (WW) is a program which promotes health in rural communities through empowerment and health literacy in the districts Chiure and Ancuabe. It is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and implemented by SolidarMed. By the end of 2011, the program is supposed to become an independent national organization. Thus, SolidarMed is looking for a dynamic, motivated and skilled person to support the organization in its institutional development. Until the end of the current financing mandate in June 2012, the institutional advisor (IA) will also have controlling and managing functions on behalf of SolidarMed. After June 2012, the function will not include controlling or operational management any more, but be restricted to external advice.
SolidarMed looks for an Institutional Advisor for the following tasks:
• Assist with the general institutional development of WIWANANA as new Mozambican civil society organization • Advise on the consolidation of management structures and processes, including field operations, human resources, finances and logistics • Support the development of WIWANANAs capacity to lead advocacy and policy dialogue with Government institutions and partners
Requisites:
• University degree in social sciences or business/administration • Sound experience in advising the institutional development of civil society organizations in rural Africa, preferably in Mozambique
• Experience with financial and project management • Experience/training in the health sector would be an asset • Excellent computer skills • Fluent oral and written Portuguese and English • Ability to live and work in a rural area
We offer an interesting benefit package, competitive salary and professional development opportunities. The workplace is Chiure, Mozambique, with frequent dislocations to Ancuabe and Pemba. There is the option to dislocate to Pemba after a certain time.
