Duties & Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Chief, Court Management Section and under the direct supervision of the
Ecourt Systems Administration Assistant the incumbent of the position performs the following duties.
1) Handle evidences in a forensically sound manner, following established methods that maintain the status of
the evidence and with adherence to guidelines and policies of best practice.
2) Together with the Ecourt Systems Administration Assistant record all activities relating to CMS handling of
evidence.
3) Assist his/her supervisor in the performance of the function of the evidence custodian, as instructed,
involving responsibility for the safety, security and confidentiality of material in possession of the Office,
including all measures of access control and precautions against threats to the material.
4) Attend meetings with the Ecourt Systems Administration Assistant in the context of evidence handling,
ecourt protocol discussions and inter organ-groups that relate directly to the processes of the CMS forensic
laboratory.
5) May be required to assist temporarily the Court Clerk with verification and upload of Ringtail evidence
submitted by parties as well as with the accurate and chronological indexing and carefully storing case files in
an electronic environment (applying scanning, registration procedures, extracting information and importing
relevant data/information in the electronic court management system; to help maintain archives containing Court
records, evidence material and AV material; to assist with research, inquiries and statistics.
6) Perform other duties as required by the Ecourt Systems Administration Assistant.
Essential Qualifications
1) Completion of secondary education;
2) Four years of practical experience with courtroom proceedings in national and/or international environment.
3) Computer literate in database management and digital evidence processes.
4) Familiar with evidence handling.
5) Ability to apply and maintain confidentiality.
6) Excellent attention to detail.
KNOWLEDGE OF LANGUAGES
Fluency in either of the working languages of the Court, English or French, is essential. Working knowledge of
the other is highly desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court would be considered an asset.
(Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish).
