- Analyze test and refine strategies for scaling up of successful tree-based landscape regeneration and water management technologies.
- Develop further work through writing/contributing to project proposals on dry lands agroforestry and climate smart agriculture in liaison with partnerships office, communication unit, the agroforestry policy initiative and the programmes development office.
- In collaboration with other scientists within the dry lands community of practice, develop cutting edge technologies to raise agricultural production in the dry lands in accordance with changing climatic regimes.
- Develop and nurture collaborations with national, regional and international research centres to facilitate collaborative studies and the dissemination of research findings within the CRP1.1 and CCAFS community of practice.
- Collaborate with, and influence policy makers, extension programs, and other CGIAR centres (ICRADA, ILRI, ICRISAT etc) in the provision and exchange of suitably packaged information and technologies that advocate the use of best practices in water and soil management and agroforestry systems in low moisture farming systems.

About us: visit our website: www.worldagroforestry.org
The World Agroforestry Centre (also known as the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry or ICRAF) is an independent research institution which generates science-based knowledge about the complex role trees play in agricultural landscapes and rural livelihoods. As part of the Centre’s work to bring tree-based solutions to bear on poverty and environmental problems, researchers – working in close collaboration with partners – are developing new technologies, tools and policy recommendations for increased food security and ecosystem health.
The Centre’s headquarters are located in Nairobi, Kenya, and research is conducted in 23 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We are supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and receive funding from over 50 different donors.
