The Transparency International Secretariat in Berlin is seeking a highly motivated intern for its Global Advocacy and Legal Advice Centre (ALAC) Programme
Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide, and an international Secretariat in Berlin, Germany (TI-S), TI raises awareness about the devastating impact of corruption and works with partners in government, the private sector and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
TI’s chapters currently operate more than 60 Advocacy and Legal Advice Centres (ALACs) in more than 45 different countries. The centres provide legal advice and assistance to victims and witnesses of corruption, helping citizens pursue corruption-related complaints and encouraging them to come forward. By using information gained from cases (either individual cases or common themes running through a variety of cases), the centres are then able to advocate for systemic reform based on concrete evidence.
The centres have proven to be effective in empowering people in the fight against corruption. Their advocacy campaigns also create a virtuous circle, helping establish the profile and reputation of the centre, which in turn, encourages more citizens to join in the struggle and resist corruption.
