JOB ADVERSTEMENT
Health Coordinator
Based: Juba
The Health Commission of the Episcopal Church of Sudan (ECS) was established to give support to the diocesan health programs in coordination, capacity building, representation, networking, policy making and advocacy on the diocesan behalf.
The ECS Health Commission is seeking to recruit a Coordinator. The Health Coordinator
will be based in the Juba but will frequently travel to all areas of Sudan.
Duties
- Responsible for ensuring timely and appropriate health care services are provided to the target area and population
- Ensure adequate supply of drugs and medical equipment to ECS clinics and health facilities
- Ensuring identification and training of ECS medical staff
- Ensure, where possible that ECS health facilities meet minimum agreed operating standards
- Facilitating the development/adaptation of appropriate training manuals in line with MOH best practise
- Collaborate and coordinate with MOH, UNICEF, WHO and other health partners for project activities
- Collaborate and coordinate with ECS strategic partners in health
- Seek funding opportunities for existing and new health programming across all Dioceses
- To identify self- sustaining mechanisms for existing health facilities and articulate to Dioceses
- Develop the network of Diocesan Health Coordinators across Sudan who can co-ordinate and support health programmes and staff.
- Monitoring the effectiveness Diocesan health facilities
- Collecting and using Diocesan reports to assess impact, quality of service and identify areas of improvement or need.
- Ensure that the MoH receive regular activity reports and statistics
- Work with Diocesan Health Coordinators to encourage Government and community participation in health activities, to ensure the long term ownership and effectiveness of the programme
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
a. Experience in managing programmes across wide geographical areas with multiple partners
b. Experience in supporting and training others
c. Experience working in the health sector (ideally in medical administration but this could be as another health professional)
d. Ability to analyse and interpret health data and use it to improve programming
e. Ability to write clear and concise proposals and reports in English
f. Ability to work independently to a high professional standard
g. Computer literate
h. Christian.

Only short listed candidates will be informed to attend an interview on Wednesday, 22nd June 2011 at ECS head Office hall. Short listed candidates will be required to bring copies of their academic certificates and three referees letter recommending them for the Job. The referees should include a pastor and a last employer. ECS Education will not cover any cost involved for coming to attend this interview.
