South Sudan has just assumed her status of being separated from the north through the recently concluded referendum that took place on the 9th of January this year. Plan International’s offices opened in Juba in 2007 and we have been operating in South Sudan since 2005.
Plan South Sudan implements a number of programs and projects in the country including water and sanitation, right to education, right to sustainable livelihood, right to good governance and disaster risk management. Our current partners include UNICEF, the World Food Program, Population Service International, CIDA and other local NGOs.
The position reports to the Plan Southern Sudan Director and is based in Juba. This will be an unaccompanied position and three year contract.
Fluency in English required.
PURPOSE The role of the Grants Manager is to support and assist the Plan Southern Sudan Programme (PSSP) Resource Mobilization Manager in mobilization of resources for the 4 core country programmes. The Grants Manager will assist the resource mobilization manager and the programme team in identifying and sourcing for funding and resource opportunities from multiple sources, and will coordinate and manage the grant portfolio. In closer coordination with the Southern Sudan People and Culture Manager, he manages the designing and implementation of a robust resource mobilization unit/department including staffing, systems and processes. He/she will develop a Resource Mobilization Plan to meet the fundraising targets envisaged in PSSP’s 5 year Resource Mobilization Strategy. He/She will also be responsible for the management and coordination of grants and provide technical support and advice on proposal development to the resource mobilization and program team members at country and field level offices. Lastly, he/she will develop innovative approaches in mobilizing resources at the community, local and international levels.
For this role the successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in resource mobilisation including grants management, proposal development and fundraising.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Degree or equivalent in Economics, Social Work, Communications and Marketing or related development field A masters degree in development, management, or a related development field is desirable Relevant demonstrated progressive experience in international development A strong awareness of current issues in the field of development in Southern Sudan Knowledge of various donor requirements Excellent proposal and report writing skills.
