Description: | IMA World Health is seeking Kenyan candidates for the position of Database Management Specialist (DMS) on a proposed USAID-funded initiative which will work with Civil Society Organizations at the national and regional level to improve health service delivery through institutional strengthening. One of the aims of the project is to develop a CSO database to capture information from the health sector and to strengthen the custodial GOK ministry both to maintain the database and to establish CSO inclusion criteria for a country-led, owned and managed health CSO database. |
Duties: | The DMS will work in collecting categorized data from CSOs including size, geographic coverage, technical expertise and human resources. In addition, data capture and entry tools will be developed and utilized. As there are other CSO databases in the country, the DMS will ensure that linkages with the developing database are established. One essential role of the DMS is as a trainer of custodial ministry database staff in order that information is used in ministry decision-making and that high quality information flow regularly to influence policy-makers. |
Qualifications: | • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, social or information sciences or other relevant field; Master’s degree preferred • At least five years experience working on civil society project, public administration, public policy or capacity building • Experience working with government ministries and other stakeholders at national and regional levels • Experience with USAID preferred • A proven, strong communicator • Required spoken and written English fluency |
