Art in Tanzania is a Non Government Organisation (NGO) registered in both Finland and Tanzania. Established in Dar es Salaam in 2001, Art in Tanzania has grown internationally to create volunteer centers in Dar es Salaam, Moshi, Arusha, the Masai tribal lands, Rubando at the Serengeti, Karatu, and Zanzibar.
Art in Tanzania has around 150 international volunteers in the country at any time working with local communities and employs 60 permanent Tanzanian staff. Our community work focuses on Educational, Cultural and Medical projects including Nursery, Primary and Secondary Education assistance, Orphan care, Women’s Groups, HIV awareness, Adult English Classes, Music production, Arts & Handicrafts and Magazine publishing.
Art in Tanzania is a self sustainable and non-profit making NGO raising income through volunteer fees, safaris, music and a magazine to support our community projects.
Job description
Art in Tanzania NGO is looking for a hard-working individual who will be committed to assist in the management and development of a worthwhile community volunteer program in Moshi
The job:
- Organizing and overseeing various educational, environmental and community development activities and projects for international volunteers
- Dealing with customer inquiries & bookings
- Supervise and arrange arrival of new volunteers and project staff, arranging immigration, visas, work permits, accommodation and briefing volunteers and staff on all aspects of country life upon their arrival in country
- Assisting volunteers in their projects, helping with lessons plans and teaching ideas
- Responsible for all liaison with placements, including daily communications and regular visits.
- Assist with developing in-country and international working relations through liaison with counterparts and donors
- Organizing Safaris & day trips, logistics
- Assist with development of new projects; assist with developing fundraising activities in-country
- Business development & marketing of Art in Tanzania overseas

Start: As soon as possible - minimum 6 months
Location: Moshi
Flights are self-funded. Art in Tanzania will refund the required Tourist Visa and the Class C work permit. Accommodation and food are provided. The allowance is 450 000 TSH/ month.
