Regional Programme Managers - Dar es Salaam or Addis Ababa, Pretoria & Dakar
You’ll maximise our effectiveness in your region – leading on our programme planning, effectiveness and overall impact. You’ll see to it that our country teams have the support they need to operate effectively, and will explore opportunities to work collaboratively with other organisations. It’s a great opportunity to change how water and sanitation services are delivered and drive massive long-term change for the poorest and
most vulnerable citizens.
Having worked at senior management level in a developing country, you’ll have an impressive track record of project and programme management – supported by an in-depth understanding of the WASH sector. You’ll be used to taking responsibility for signify cant budgets, planning strategically and operationally, and empowering others through your inspiring leadership style.
Regional Technical Advisers - Dar es Salaam or Addis Ababa, Pretoria & Dakar
Providing us with technical expertise, your work will be pivotal to our overall success. It will be your challenge to raise our overall standards of technical competence, and to make sure we’re reflecting national and global best practice in everything we do. You’ll also act as a source of expert advice for our senior programme staff, and will work closely with partner organisations to expand our knowledge.
With a Masters in a WASH-related field, you’ll have an in-depth technical knowledge of either water, sanitation or hygiene. Specifically, you’ll need to be aware of WASH projects in low-income countries, and the challenges involved in designing, developing and delivering them. A skilled networker, you’ll have a background of managing consultants and carrying out operational planning.
Regional Advocacy Managers - Dar es Salaam or Addis Ababa & Pretoria
You’ll lead the delivery of key regional initiatives relating to advocacy, policy analysis and research. In addition, you’ll have a pivotal role to play in driving global advocacy initiatives. Through your work, you’ll increase our influence and build on our success, while developing strong local partnerships and promoting positive change.
As a post-graduate in development studies, public policy, administration or a related field, you should understand technical and social issues relating to water, sanitation and hygiene education. It’s important that you understand these issues in the context of developing countries – both in urban and rural areas. You’ll also need considerable senior level experience of carrying out advocacy, lobbying, campaigning and policy analysis work in your region.
Regional Support Officers - Dar es Salaam or Addis Ababa, Pretoria & Dakar
You will support both the Regional Programme Manager and Regional Advocacy Manager in regional programme planning, development, effectiveness, quality assurance, learning, reporting and overall assessment of our impact in your region. This will involve producing reports, assisting in budgeting, production of planning documents and ongoing tracking, analysis and evaluation of programmes as well and organising and hosting regional events and conferences.
Qualified to degree level, you must have experience of the development sector (preferably the water and sanitation sector) as well as report writing, project planning, financial planning and monitoring. Strong written and oral communication skills will be backed by strong research skills, the ability to deal with qualitative and quantitative information, initiative, team skills and the ability to multi-task.
All roles require extensive travel.
