MANAGER: STRATEGY & INVESTIGATIONS
The successful candidate should possess a B degree in Security Management, or an equivalent relevant tertiary qualification, and at least 10 years' experience in a crime investigation environment, of which at least 5 years should have been spent in a senior leadership role. Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering relevant strategies to optimise business efficiencies is essential, as is a proven track record in managing prosecution-driven investigations and overseeing complex project investigations over the past 5 years. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate and work with/in diverse teams. We are seeking a person with a high level of self-management, a strong focus on planning, organising and task management, as well as excellent communication skills enabling him/her to address high-powered corporate entities, such as the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Audit Committee.
Essential personal qualities are diligence, honesty, good ethics and the ability to meet the demands of a vibrant, robust working environment. Good conflict-handling skills with an openness to constructive criticism, as well as persuasiveness, are essential for this function. A Business or Management postgraduate qualification would be advantageous. Candidates must be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre.
Duties and responsibilities include: * Interpreting corporate strategy and contributing to developing a cost-effective sustainable protection strategy for Gold Fields Limited * Providing ongoing talent management, leadership and direction in the investigation environment to ensure excellence in security fundamentals, especially detection, apprehension of suspects and recovery of financial losses *Ensuring the full integration and implementation of all security processes and systems within the investigative environment *Developing and maintaining protection policies and standards in line with corporate policies and standards * Driving continuous business improvement through the implementation of best practice principles within the investigative environment * Representing the company on all forums dealing with matters pertaining to investigations, white-collar crime and relevant public-private forums * Building and expanding relationships with relevant stakeholders, including Law Enforcement and Prosecutorial Authorities and corporate security networks
* Monitoring trends in the security environment to stay abreast of developments which may be beneficial to introduce into the Company * Actively pursuing, evaluating and migrating security best practices into the business.
