The International Teacher Trainer (ITT) is responsible for the training, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the international volunteer teachers while also teaching primary school students (with a Malawian government teacher). The ITT will work with the school’s Head Teacher and Teacher Trainer to supervise the international volunteers and to assist with their integration into the Malawian education system. The ITT will live and work The Nanthomba Full Primary School, H.E.L.P.'s major focus in the region. Successful applicants must have excellent communication and cross cultural skills, experience in education, and a great sense of humor! A commitment of one year is required.

Responsibilities:
1. Teach ESL and other selected courses to primary school students
2. Manage the teaching progress and responsibilities of HELP’s international volunteer teachers
3. Continually monitor, evaluate, and instruct volunteers on their teaching methods and areas of overall improvement
4. Utilize and modify an existing training manual and personal expertise in education and cross-cultural experience to orient incoming volunteers
5. Observe the community assistant teachers, and work with the Head Teacher and Teacher Trainer to improve their teaching skills.
6. Initiate and/or supervise secondary projects for new volunteers.
7. Liaise with H.E.L.P. staff and management
Applicants must:
- be self-motivated, energetic, flexible,
and hard working
- have excellent project/personnel
management skills
- have cross-cultural experience:
worked/lived abroad for an extended
period of time
- have teaching experience of at least 1
year
- have cumulative volunteer/public
service experience of at least 6 months
