Position Summary:
BroadReach is currently accepting expressions of interest from potential Clinical Mentor candidates and Clinical Mentorship Program Manager candidates interested in BroadReach’s submission for an upcoming USAID-funded program in Ethiopia.
Clinical Mentor Responsibilities:
• Provide HIV-related training sessions to health professionals according to established curricula and using various methodologies (including distance learning)
• Provide on-site clinical training and mentoring to medical officers and other healthcare workers on the management of patients with HIV/ADS and other infectious diseases according to Ethiopian national guidelines
• Work alongside local physicians and supervise local treatment teams in order to teach and share best practices in HIV/ AIDS
• Serve as a referral or consultative resource for complicated HIV/AIDS and other infectious disease cases across multiple facilities
• Assist in the development of standard operating procedures for the provision of HIV clinical care at health clinics/facilities
Clinical Mentorship Program Manager Responsibilities:
• Implement the overall clinical mentorship approach in accordance with WHO and Federal Ministry of Health guidelines.
• Assist in the development of clinical mentorship curriculum
• Oversee a core group of clinical mentors and track performance and key deliverables to include curriculum coverage and numbers of health workers trained
• Provide orientation and training guidelines to clinical mentors
• Coordinate with regional health bureaus and zonal health offices to assess facilities and assign clinical mentors based on established criteria
• Conduct joint bi-weekly clinical and monthly data review meetings
• Assist with updating and revision of HIV-related training materials and guidelines
• Provide regular monthly, quarterly and annual reports on training and technical assistance activities as well as findings and recommendations for strengthening services in the facilities and compliance with the national treatment guidelines
Key Qualifications:
• Medical essential, Post Graduate HIV /AIDS Management qualification desirable (Advanced Degree for Program Manager)
• At least 5 years of experience working in clinical settings in adult and pediatric HIV /AIDS, TB, PMTCT and/or ARV provision
• Experience in the provision of HIV clinical training, teaching, coaching and mentoring
• At least 2 years of experience in clinical management and administration
• Ability to write reports, analyze and interpret data
• Understanding health care systems and work experience in resource-limited settings
• Ability to adapt to diverse environments and work with people of different cultures
• Experience working on USAID, PEPFAR, and/or other donor-funded health projects or programs
• Strong content or technical knowledge
• Must demonstrate exceptional written and oral communication skills in English
• Consistent ability to meet deadlines and remain focused
