The Faculty has a vigorous and innovative academic program. It teaches in three undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, urban design and art history. It also offers several postgraduate research programs including a Doctor of Philosophy. The Art History program is a small research-intensive unit with an international reputation for outstanding research and teaching in art history. In 2012 it is embarking on an ambitious new Major in Art History with wide contributions in the European and Australian traditions from the medieval to contemporary periods with an emphasis on global and culturally diverse approaches and the cultural history of technology. The program works with and alongside other units in art practice, architecture and landscape architecture within the Faculty and draws many of its students from Humanities disciplines in the University’s Arts Faculty.
The position will require the applicant to work on the Art History Major within the Faculty. This will include teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels, as well as performing research, administrative and other activities associated with the Faculty. Women are particularly encouraged to apply. Applicants with teaching experience are requested to submit a teaching portfolio as part of their application.
