Position Title: Administrative and Logistic Officer – based in Lindi
Job Purpose
The Administration and Logistics Officer will form part of Save the Children
Tanzania’s Lindi Support Service Team. S/he will provide logistical and administrative and ICT support to the Lindi programme office and ensure SCUK logistical standards are met and policies and procedures are followed.
Key accountabilities
Administrative and Logistics Officer mainly will be responsible for the following:-
1. Administrative
Provide administrative support to staff at Save the children Lindi programme office. The incumbent among other things will work closely with field staff to ensure field offices have necessary support on materials, equipment and vehicles.
2. Logistics
Responsible for logistical issues using approved systems, procedures and guidelines. This includes maintaining the asset registry for high and low value organization’s assets and make sure it is up to date.
Ensure the maintenance and timely repair of SC UK equipment and vehicles. Make sure all statutory requirements for assets, vehicle and properties are kept up to date and are properly scheduled for renewal.
3. Information Technology
Responsible for provision of IT support at Lindi programme office and liaison with IT coordinator at Dar es Salaam office on all matter related to IT operation.
Ensure the proper protection and use of the IT systems and software as per organization’s ICT policy.
Personal specification: Essential Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Business Administration, logistics, procurement and computer studies or relevant field of study.
Experience in logistics, procurement, distribution, fleet management, stock control and supplies.
Excellent IT skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and team skills. Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili
Ability to plan, organize and manage own and team work plans and time, effectively.
Desirable
Experience of emergency preparedness planning from a logistical perspective.
Experience of setting and monitoring budgets.
Experience in providing IT support and prompt communication on IT faults.
Financial and line management experience.
Experience of working in similar other development organization. Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s values and principles.
